Welcome to the Public Inspection Module of the State Ethics Commission’s new Statements of Financial Interests (SFI) electronic filing system.  From here, you will now be able to view online, a list of all the individuals required to file an SFI for a selected calendar year (CY), beginning with CY 2015.  You will also be able to search for a specific filer(s) by name or to search for all filers from a particular agency.  To conduct a search, click on the Search tab located on the left side of the screen.

In addition, you will able to view online whether a filer has completed their SFI filing.  Filers may file electronically or manually.  If an SFI is filed electronically, its filing will be reflected in the system automatically upon submission.  If filed manually, there will be a short delay before the system displays that it has been filed because Commission staff must scan, redact and upload that SFI into the system.

SFIs are public records and may be requested by members of the public.  The financial disclosure law provides that an SFI shall be available for public inspection and copying upon written request of any individual.  Such requests must be accompanied by proof of the requesting individual’s identity.  The law further requires the Commission to notify the filer of the name and affiliation, if any, of the individual who has viewed their SFI.

Certain information, such as the filer’s personal email address, home address and personal phone number and the names of their family members and their home addresses, has been redacted (i.e., removed from view) from the SFIs available for public inspection because it is exempt from disclosure under the public records law. 

If you would like to view a redacted copy of a CY 2015 SFI for any filer(s), you will be required to register online as a user and provide a picture ID.  To do so, click on the Register ID tab located on the left side of the screen.  After your registration is accepted, you will receive an email containing a user ID, a temporary password and the link to the system.  When you login, you will be able to view, print and/or copy, a redacted copy of the CY 2015 SFI for any filer(s) you select. As a registered public user, you may view and download up to 50 SFIs at a time.  Any filer(s) you select will receive a notice that you have viewed a copy of their SFI.
